William Richard Bussicott married Sarah King at St Anne
Soho Westminster on 25th December 1835.
(Christmas Day!) as can be seen on Parrot’s
Marriage Index
(MC)
We know from the 1841 Census
he was born c 1815 so he was 20 when he married.
We know that they had six
girls of whom three died very young:
|
Caroline born in 1838 and died
the same year
|
|
Eliza
was born in 1840
In
the 1841 Census, William, Sarah and Eliza are
living in St Georges Hanover Square. They are
actually noted on the census form as Bugsicott.
(What I have seen many many times is when they
wrote “ss” together it was the custom to
elongate the first “s”) |
|
Mary Ann
was born 1842
|
|
Sophia who was born in 1944 and died in 1946
|
|
Sarah was born 1847
|
|
Agnes
was born 1850 and died soon afterwards
(We have the death certificate
for Agnes who died at 17 New Grosvenor Place, Pimlico,
Belgravia on 27th
October 1850 (DC) aged just one. She
died from Rubella)
|
William must have died about
the same year as in the April 1851 Census Sarah was
termed a widow and had the following family living at 17
New Grosvenor Place in St George Hanover Square with the
three young girls:
